Set Yourself Sustainable Goals to Change!

Most of us resist change, hence development… So what frightens us so much that compels us to live in conditions we want to change?  When we spend years in a job we do not want, when we are imprisoned in an unhappy relationship, when we want to start a diet to be more fit but cannot start, when we sigh in front of the gym and never enter;  We are left alone with a huge feeling of guilt.  The idea of going outside of our safe areas sounds terrifying, and that's why we can't stop living in our comfort zones, which is most familiar to us.

By making a new decision every day, you may be making a new development plan!  But the important thing is;  Finding a realistic source of motivation for you to take action to reach your goal.  Consider a young girl months away from her wedding: She has never exercised and never paid attention to her diet.  On her wedding day, she spends her days in the Pilates hall to wear the most beautiful wedding gown and become a bride admired by everyone.  The biggest motivation behind this girl's exercise is to look charming in the wedding dress!  We can say that it is a very realistic source of motivation.  But the problem is that  It is very likely that it will return to its former state after that day has passed.

Just as we cannot ignore the importance of the goals we have set to be realistic, the sustainability of our sources of motivation will be the first step towards change.  There is very little time left for us to enter the new year.  We may make the mistake of setting ourselves unrealistic goals for the New Year, and that will only do nothing but feel guilty.  Once you have set a goal by considering your potential, you should create a realistic action plan that will enable you to reach that goal.

Your goals must include a clear result or reward

It is very important that you can answer the question "What will I get when I succeed?"  Do not reward yourself with things that do not fit your goals or decisions.  For example, if your goal is to lose weight and have an active and healthy life, you should not reward yourself with a box of chocolate.  If you are a mother, your reward may be to be able to play more actively with your child and keep up with his or her activities.

Let's enter the new year with new goals and our most valuable responsibility to ourselves is to find the right and sustainable sources of motivation to get out of our comfort zone.
